Dr. Bethany Yurek received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University in 2009.
She is originally from Peoria, Illinois, where she developed her love for veterinary medicine at a very young age. She joined her husband, an equine practitioner, in Colorado after meeting him in veterinary school.
Dr. Yurek returned to Jasper Animal Hospital after spending 7 years as the lead veterinarian of a practice in the heart of Denver. She believes that the extreme challenges she faced during that time have shaped her into the veterinarian she was meant to be. Her primary career interests include internal medicine, cardiology, regenerative medicine, and wildlife medicine and rehabilitation.
Outside of work, Dr. Yurek spends most of her time with her husband and two young daughters, Norah and Maren, as well as her Bernese Mountain Dog, Jack Russell Terrier mix, and crazy cat. She really enjoys music, coffee, traveling, scuba diving, and wants to get better at skiing.
